“Tradición Viva en la Ciudad de México”
Nuestro altar está inspirado en el espíritu colorido, cultural y profundamente simbólico de la Ciudad de México, un lugar donde el pasado y el presente se entrelazan entre murales, calles llenas de historia y corazones que honran las tradiciones que nos dan identidad.
Rinde homenaje a cuatro personajes emblemáticos que representan la esencia de la capital mexicana y los valores que han trascendido generaciones:
Frida Kahlo, ícono del arte y la autenticidad;
Benito Juárez, símbolo de justicia y libertad;
Octavio Paz, voz poética del alma mexicana;
y Pedro Infante, eterno representante de la música popular y la alegría del pueblo.
El altar se estructura en tres niveles, siguiendo la tradición ancestral que representa los distintos planos de existencia:

El primer nivel, el inframundo, simboliza el inicio del viaje espiritual y el reencuentro con los que ya partieron.

El segundo nivel, la tierra, representa el mundo de los vivos, donde la tradición y la memoria permanecen presentes a través de las ofrendas, flores y alimentos que conectan ambos mundos.

El tercer nivel, el cielo, honra el descanso eterno y la unión con lo divino, donde reposan las fotografías de nuestros personajes rodeadas de papel picado que simboliza el aire y la alegría del retorno de las almas.
En el centro destaca una cruz de flores de cempasúchil, cuyo aroma y color dorado guían el camino de los difuntos hacia su ofrenda. A su alrededor, el papel picado mantiene viva la tradición, llenando de movimiento y color cada rincón.
Por los costados, las flores de papel maché hechas a mano reflejan los colores vibrantes de la Ciudad de México: tonos intensos que evocan su energía, su arte y su diversidad. Estas flores representan la creatividad del pueblo mexicano, que transforma lo cotidiano en arte y la memoria en color.
Cada detalle fue pensado para unir tradición y contemporaneidad, combinando materiales artesanales con un sentido estético que celebra la identidad de nuestra ciudad. Las ofrendas expresan gratitud, las flores simbolizan amor eterno y la luz representa esperanza.
“Tradición Viva en la Ciudad de México” no es solo una ofrenda: es un homenaje a nuestra historia, a nuestros héroes culturales y al espíritu que mantiene con vida nuestras raíces. En cada flor, en cada papel recortado y en cada aroma a cempasúchil, late el corazón de un México que honra a sus muertos celebrando la vida.
“Living Tradition in Mexico City”
Our altar is inspired by the colorful, cultural, and deeply symbolic spirit of Mexico City — a place where past and present intertwine through murals, historic streets, and hearts that honor the traditions that shape our identity.
It pays tribute to four emblematic figures who embody the essence of the Mexican capital and the values that have transcended generations:

🎭 Cantinflas, un símbolo del humor, la humildad y la voz del pueblo;
✍️ Octavio Paz, the poetic voice of the Mexican soul;
🎶 and Pedro Infante, the eternal representative of popular music and the joy of the people.
The altar is built in three levels, following the ancestral tradition that represents the different planes of existence:

The first level, the underworld, symbolizes the beginning of the spiritual journey and the reunion with those who have departed.

The second level, the earth, represents the world of the living, where tradition and memory remain alive through offerings, flowers, and food that connect both realms.

The third level, the sky, honors eternal rest and the union with the divine, where the photographs of our featured figures rest, surrounded by papel picado that symbolizes air and the joy of the souls’ return.
At the center stands a cross made of cempasúchil flowers, whose golden hue and scent guide the spirits back to their offering. Around it, the papel picado keeps tradition alive, filling every corner with movement and color.
On the sides, handcrafted paper-mâché flowers reflect the vibrant tones of Mexico City — vivid hues that evoke its energy, its art, and its diversity. These flowers represent the creativity of the Mexican people, who turn the everyday into art and memory into color.
Every detail has been designed to unite tradition and modernity, blending artisanal materials with an aesthetic that celebrates our city’s identity. The offerings express gratitude, the flowers symbolize eternal love, and the light represents hope.
“Living Tradition in Mexico City” is more than an altar — it is a tribute to our history, our cultural icons, and the spirit that keeps our roots alive. In every flower, in every cut of paper, and in every scent of cempasúchil beats the heart of a Mexico that honors its dead by celebrating life.
