Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions:
 

1. What’s the difference between a Timeshare and a Vacation Club?
Traditional timeshares usually offer fixed weeks per year in a specific room type and season.

Royal Elite offers much more flexibility—you can stay any day of the week, book different room types according to your membership level, and invite guests without additional fees. Depending on your contract, you’ll enjoy more freedom when it comes to travel dates and unit types.
 

2. Who should I contact to make a reservation at Sandos Hotels & Resorts?

3. Who can use my membership?
Anyone can enjoy your membership benefits, as long as the reservation is made by you, the primary member. Your guests will receive the same service and privileges included in your membership level.
 

4. How does the Referral Program work?
You can offer promotional rates or VIP cards to friends and family.
If someone joins Royal Elite thanks to your recommendation, you’ll receive 7 All-Inclusive certificates, each covering one person for one night at any Sandos hotel—valid in any season except major holidays.
For more details, check the terms on the referral certificate or the referral annex in your contract.
 

5. What’s the difference between Sandos Weeks, Elite Weeks, and Points?

  • Sandos Weeks or Points can be used at Sandos Hotels or exchanged through RCI.

  • Elite Weeks can only be used at Sandos properties.

Availability depends on your specific contract—please check your guide or contact Member Services.
 

6. How can I exchange my Sandos Weeks or Points?
Through RCI at www.rci.com. If your membership includes this benefit, you can access over 6,000 affiliated resorts worldwide.
You may also use Save & Stay (if included in your contract) to enjoy global travel discounts.
 

7. How often do I need to pay the Maintenance Fee or Operational Cost?
The frequency and amount vary depending on your contract. Please refer to the cover page of your agreement or contact Member Services for exact details.
 

8. Can I use more nights or points than my yearly allotment?
Yes. Depending on your contract, you can either borrow from future usage (acceleration) or roll over unused benefits (banking).
Please note that the corresponding operational cost must be paid for the applicable year.
 

9. What if I don’t use my full week?
It depends on the type of membership:

  • Week and Points Memberships allow you to carry over unused portions for up to one year.

  • Night-based Memberships offer a set number of nights valid for the entire life of the contract, not limited to a specific year.


10. How can I become a Royal Elite member?
Visit any Sandos Hotel & Resort and ask our on-site team for more information. We’ll be happy to walk you through all the benefits of joining Royal Elite.
