1. What is the difference between a Timeshare and a Vacation Club?

Timeshares let you use a fixed week once a year, generally for 7 nights and 8 days. Most Timeshares only allow you to check-in and out of the hotel during weekends (generally an extra fee is applied if a guest uses your Timeshare).

 

Through Royal Elite Vacation Club our members can use their membership any week of the year, for the number of nights that they wish, restrictions apply for certain dates of high occupancy, is required a minimum of nights, depending on the resort and season. They can check-in and out of the hotel on any day of the week, also, there are no guest fees to let someone else use your membership.

3. Who can use my membership?

Anyone can use your membership, as long as the member makes the reservation request. Any guests that you invite will travel as if they are a Royal Elite Member, with the exact same benefits that you have as per your membership.

 

4. How does the Referral Program work?

The referral program is a means of spreading word about Royal Elite Vacation Club. Members can choose to give promotional stays to their friends or families that allow them to attend the sales presentation and see what Royal Elite has to offer, all while staying at one of the Sandos Hotels & Resorts in Mexico.

Members also have the option of handing out VIP Cards during their stays at the Sandos Hotels & Resorts to people that they think might be interested in having their own membership, and of course all of the exclusive membership benefits.

Any time a Member refers someone who joins the Royal Elite Vacation Club because of their recommendation, the Member is given a free All-Inclusive week.

 

5. What is the difference between Sandos Weeks, Elite Weeks, and Points?

Sandos Weeks or Points can be used at any Sandos Hotel & Resort or exchanged through RCI.

Elite Weeks can be used at any Sandos Hotel & Resort.

The availability of Sandos/Elite Weeks and Points depends on your contract. Please contact our Member Service Department for more information.

 

6. How can I exchange my Weeks/Points?

The Points are exchanged directly through RCI at www.rci.com. Please contact RCI directly for any questions about exchanging your Points.

 

7. How often do I have to pay Maintenance Fees/Operation Costs?

Maintenance fees and/or Operation Costs vary according to the type of membership. Please contact our Member Service Department for more information.

 

8. Can I use more Weeks/Points?

In order to use your membership faster than what you have as per contract, you simply pay the applicable Maintenance fee or operation cost corresponding to the last year of your membership.

 

9. What happens if I do not use my Weeks/Points?
Unused Sandos/Elite Weeks cannot be banked or saved; they must be used within the time period stated in your contract.

Unused Points can be deposited to be banked into the RCI system for 12 months.

 

10. What happens if I do not use my whole week?

If you do not use 7 nights at a time, the unused nights can still be used within the time period corresponding to your contract.

 

11. How can I obtain a Royal Elite membership?

Visit one of our Sandos Hotels & Resorts and simply ask! Any of our Royal Elite Staff Members will be happy to fill you in on our vacation club and all the exclusive Member benefits that it can offer you.
